Late breaking news just in time for the long weekend, we have some answers from the Minister's office to the questions presented in August by PSOs.

  • Q1 - When will the athletes receive their Quest for Gold funding for 2019-20?
  • Q2 - What is the Quest for Gold plan for 2020/21?

The Minister (MHSTCI) is looking forward to announcing support for high performance sport athletes, including Ontario’s incredible Quest for Gold athletes, in the near future.

Consequently – for this year’s recipients and athlete expressing future interest in Q4G, since we are already into September and outdoor season has provided limited opportunity (due to COVID-19) to collect data that would ordinarily be included in calculations toward this funding application, we recommend Shooting 2-3 of the 720 outdoor rounds registered with Archery Canada posted on the Archery Ontario website.

On behalf of the board of directors and the Q4G Special Committee, we appreciate the frustration at this lateness in getting athletes funding, as well as recognize the exceptional circumstances we are in. Thank you for your patience and ongoing support in our ongoing Quest to seek answers (from the government).

In the meantime, let’s do what we do best - shoot some archery – some 720 rounds please!!!
At the same time, let’s stay safe and follow recommendations from public health officials:
Screening, Masking, Social Distancing, Disinfecting and Contact Tracing.

We will share information as it becomes available. Have a great long weekend. Thank you.
Renee Brouillette
Vice President of Administration
